Drinks in the bar were on point. Got our table, appetizer calamari was small pieces...I mean SMALL. Brussel spouts were nice. 10 oz prime rib was plenty. Broccoli was a tough over cooked And mash potatoes were definitely instant. Win was nice.Everone enjoyed there meal. So for four people four cocktails two appetizers four meals and wine for a total tip included $310.00 that very fair pricing. Would I race back?? Not sure!! It was very good for the price.
Outstanding experience at Clyde's Prime Rib! The ribeye steak was cooked to perfection--juicy, flavorful, and tender. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the service was top-notch. Easily one of the best steaks I've had in Portland. Highly recommend! The cocktails are great
A Portland classic. Service is always good and the atmosphere is 100% what you'd hope to get in an East Sandy steakhouse. Red leather booths, darkish, warm but never hot, great tables...all of it. The food is 10/10. Great prime rib and the sides are very good too. The lounge/bar area feels like a movie set. In a good way. Love Clyde's.
Yum. Apparently Clyde's is a classic landmark of Portland. From the moment I stepped in I felt like I was transported to the 70s. The decor is dark and a bit gaudy but it works. I ordered the 10 oz prime rib, medium cooked, with chimichurri and a loaded baked potato on the side. Keep in mind the baked potato can only be ordered starting at 4pm. The meat was cooked nicely and it was good mixing up each bite with the meat juice and horseradish sauces. The chimichurri was a bit creamier and denser than I'm used to but still tasty. I wouldn't say it's necessary to order for the extra $2. Meat had decent slabs of fat on the side which I had to cut out. The entire plate was a cohesive dish that I enjoyed. My only wish is to have a smaller prime rib option. 10 oz was a lot so I ended up taking 1/3 of it to-go.
Long time admirer, first time visitor. As others have mentioned, shame on me waiting so long to come here. Sat on the bar side and NOTHING disappointed. Food was excellent, drinks were top notch, vibes were on point. Best yet, the prices are friendly. 10/10 would and will be coming back. I'm sorry Clyde's for waiting so long
Definitely need a reservation on the weekend. Great service. Prime Rib is amazing. Fantastic drinks too. A bit loud but otherwise great vibe in the room.
Went here for lunch and had a great experience. Michael was our server. When we were initially seated, the hostess would not seat us in front of the fireplace stating that the restaurant was going to get busy. When Michael arrived, he checked for reservations for that table and seated us there, as initially requested. We ordered a Cheeseburger, fries, and a beat salad, and I got the Prime Rib with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The beet salad, broccoli, and Prime Rib were the real stars. The Prime Rib was cooked perfectly and tasted great. The service was great, the restaurant was decorated nicely for Christmas, and I highly recommend this place.
One of the best happy hours in the city, from 3-6pm every day, with a 1 drink minimum! Due to its popularity the lounge can fill up just after 5pm, so try to get there early or be ready to wait for a table to open up. Their double-cheese lounge burger is perhaps the best in town with a pillowy soft brioche bun, a thick ~half pound patty, thin sliced onions/lettuce & tomatoes & pickles and secret sauce. The house cut fries complement it perfectly. Consider getting a side of horseradish to mix with the ketchup for a bomb fry sauce. And of course you can't go there without trying some of their famous prime rib! Happy hour plate of rib bites are $16 and well worth it.
Delightful experience all the way around! Friendly, welcoming staff, beautiful dining room with very comfortable booths, clean environment (including restroom), and very tasty food! Had the larger cut of prime rib, which was expertly prepared to "medium" and this came with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The broccoli was SO good - not sure what they put in it, but it was great! The prime rib was served with a creamy horseradish sauce that I found delightful (the heat caused just minor pain in my nasal cavity, which is what I go for!) and a nice au jus. This is THE place to go for prime rib in the Portland area (since 1955.)
